WAHM Direct Sales Week presents It Works with Jacqueline

image

It seems that everywhere I look anymore I run into “The Wrap”, if you are not familiar with what I’m talking about look around Facebook a bit. Notice those amazing before and after pictures of people who used a body wrap from It Works and lost inches? Yep, I want that! Of course the coveted “Wrap” is not the only wonderful product that It Works has to offer, what a wonderful opportunity to help people feel better about themselves while making some extra cash, read on to learn more!

Meet Jacqueline
image
Hello! And thank you for joining us for One Little Indian's WAHM Direct Sales Week, Please introduce yourself to our readers:

I am Jackie, a super busy mom of four and a full-time employee outside of the home.  I absolutely love It Works! because I have the flexibility of making my OWN schedule around my kid's activities, my full-time gig, and whatever else may come up.  I love making people look and feel better about themselves.

How did you first hear about the company you now represent and what made you want to join?

I kept seeing a friend of mine RAVE about this wrap she had found and how she had lost inches off her waist and completely changed her shape in just 45 minutes per application!

image
How easy was getting your "foot in the door" with your company, Were there any costs associated with joining and what did you get for these costs?

I paid a $99 and got an awesome kit with 4 wraps, all my marketing material, a tape measure and other items to get me organized and informed about every product It Works! had to offer.  I have only had success since then and recently my husband decided to sign up under me and is doing exceptionally well!

We all know that having a Down line is important in any Direct Sales Business, How did you go about getting your down line to join you? How many people do you currently sponsor for your company?

I simply tell the truth!  It Works! has changed my life - both health wise and financially.  This is a company you can grow with and how much you grow and in what time you grow is totally up to you.  There are no ceilings, no limits to how much you can earn.  You don't have to have a down line.  If you are a born recruiter for customers, you can have as many as you want!  If you want to sign up distributors under you, you can!  It's such a big market that having a downline doesn't hurt my business.  I love the fact that we are like family.  If I need help with a party, one of my fellow upline is ready to go with me!

How many dedicated customers do you have? Was it easy to get that amount?

I have 30 Loyal Customers.  It was very easy.  When my customers try the wrap and get results, they want to sign up as  a Loyal Customer because they get MY price on the products!

Do you do home parties? If so tell me a little about how a typical party might run? How much work goes into a party? How many home parties do you do a month?

I have done home parties.  They are so much fun!  There is a 20 minute presentation and then everyone goes to get wrapped.  The host can have finger foods if they want, I've had some serve wine or champagne, or just water, water, water!  I leave it up to individual host(ess). I do one at most a month.  That's only because I work full time, have 4 children and also another direct sales job.  When my children are a little older, I plan to do 2-4 a month!

image
Do you "Have" to do home parties to be a consultant? What other ways can I sell the product?

Not at all!  Facebook is my biggest selling point with It Works!  Check out my before/after pics, they don't lie!  I get majority of my commission from people signing up to be a Loyal Customer under me or my down line.  I also schedule wrap appointments in the evenings at my home!  It's really convenient for me and my family!

How much in sales does a home party have to earn for the hostess to get discounts/free products? Tell us about the discounts for parties! I'm nosy, I'd love to hear what I could potentially earn from hosting a party with your company.

I ask that the hostess have at least 5 paying customers to get her wrap for free.

If the host has more then five paying customers are there any other perks or discounts she can earn?

At the party, she/he will wrap for free.  This is a $35 value!

And the big question, If I were a Rep. for your company what can I expect to earn in commission? What is the "rate"?

You earn 10% of everything you buy or sell through your website.  This does not count the profit you make from selling individual wraps at $30 per wrap.  (They cost $15ish wholesale)  For every 2 loyal customers you enroll, you can get a "wrap reward".  This means, you can get a box of 4 wraps for only $25 shipped.  This is an awesome profit if you are selling individual wraps for $30!  With the sell of one you have already earned back your cost plus more!

image

Is it easy to advance in your company? How long have you been a consultant and how quickly did you advance?

It is really easy to advance.  I have been a distributor since April and am getting ready to promote to the next level up...Executive.

What bonus comes with moving up in the company? Do you get more commission from buying/selling?

There are several levels you can promote to with It Works!  You earn anywhere from 10% to 5% off multiple generations in your down line.

Also, when a new distributor under you gets his/her first 2 Loyal Customers within the first 30 days of signing up, you get $100 bonus!  If your distributor gets 4 Loyal Customers THEY get $110 worth of free products of their choice.

Is there a minimum is sales that you have to make to remain "active" or to keep your status in your company? How do you attain that? Is it easy?

No!  No minimum.

image
What support do you provide to those that sign up under you? If I signed up I'd be so lost! Tell me how you would help me to get started and to be successful if I've never been in the Direct Sales Business before?

We have an exclusive online group for anyone in our team.  We Skype.  I have a team of distributors in my locality that are always willing to help me with any questions or parties when I need help.

Does your company have any kind of training for new consultants? What about "Special Events"?

Sure, there is an abundance of information in our 'back office" that every distributor has access to.  There are also awesome reps who are more than willing to help you in any way possible.  There are often "Boot Camps" in different areas that are specifically meant to train you in all aspects of the business.

Are there any other special "Perks" that your company provides? Such as free products, extra cash, trips, etc. for anything?

If you have 60 customers and a $3000 sales volume, you get $600 for a car allowance.  However you don't have to use that for a car!

Wow! Is that a monthly allowance?

Yes, you get $600 a month as a car allowance.  You can use it for anything you like!  This is one of my personal goals and I can't wait to achieve it!

image
What is one product that seems to be a big seller?

The Ultimate Body Applicator aka The WRAP!

What is your favorite product from your company?

I personally love the Ultimate Body Applicators and The Greens and Regular.

Have you ever been a consultant for any other company prior to joining your company?

I am also an Avon rep!  I love it too!

Thank you Jacqueline! I loved doing our Q&A and learning about a company that I have seen so much of but know little about. It seems that It Works is booming!

Want to Win? Jacqueline has offered up an amazing prize to one lucky reader. They will get a chance to try an ItWorks Body Wrap, FREE, a $35 value. Giveaway ends on Nov. 1st at 12:01am. To enter fill out the Rafflecopter form below.

Mommy Makes Money Monday #2

It absolutly warms my heart that I had quite a few of my readers check our Superpoints via our last Mommy Makes Money Monday post. I hope that those of you who requested an invite are enjoying your winnings, I know two of you who are already rocking out the points. So here you have it friends, Episode #2 of Mommy Makes Money Monday! If you missed last weeks post I will have a link at the bottom of this one. If you are new I decided to feature a way I make a little bit of extra cash online. By no means it’s not a “get rich quick” thing, just a little something I can do each day while I’m watching TV or on the computer already that helps buy little extras for our household. What I generally do is save for Christmas each year, with all the random things I do for cash they do add up to quite a bit come Christmas time and then it doesn’t seem that a huge chunk of our budget is coming out to pay for Christmas. So read on friends, here is this weeks Mommy Makes Money Monday!

Instant Cash Sweepstakes

image

‘If you remember from my post last week I said that I generally will not do survey sites, they just take way way too long and most of the time I don’t have 20 minutes to sit down and commit to one survey. Instant Cash Sweepstakes is the exception to my “rule”. Why you ask? Because it doesn’t take 20 minutes to do the surveys and they are actually pretty fun!

What is Instant Cash Sweepstakes (or ICS)?

Instant Cash Sweepstakes is a quick little ditty of a site in which you answer generally three question short surveys, mostly submitted by members so they are fun questions. You randomly (although it seems to happen once per session on most occassions) get a cash reward attached to the survey. Along with the cash you also earn Tickets and Tokens, both used for daily drawings.

What Can I Expect to Earn from Instant Cash Sweepstakes?

The short answer, like most sites it really depends on what you are going to put into it, how lucky you are, and how many people you have signed up under you. Personally I don’t earn a ton because I don’t have anyone signed up under me. I do make enough for me to keep doing it though. You can complete your session of short surveys once every three hours. During each Session you usually hit a paying survey once (sometimes less, rarely more). The “cash” winnings vary, I have personally received anywhere from a penny to 12 cents. I’ve been doing ICS for roughly 5 months, most of which time I haven’t been serious about it, doing it once a day at best, and I’ve cashed out once with $10.95 and I currently have $2.61 I could cash at any time.  The Tickets you earn are automatically put in to a daily drawing for $50 and the Tokens you can enter whenever you want into an every 4 hour drawing for $2 (I’ve personally won this drawing twice and my best friend has won it twice). Because you get matching for anything anyone under you earns as well she definitly makes more money then I do since she makes all of what she earns plus all of what I earn (including the $2 I have won from the every 4 hour drawing). So you can see how this could really add up should you have a few people underneath you.

What Can I Earn from Instant Cash Sweepstakes?

Cash, plain and simple. You receive your winnings through PayPal. You can cash out after you hit $2 in your account at any time. And payments are super duper quick too, the last time I cashed out I had the money in my account within 24 hours.

ics

Screen Shot of my recent cash out through ICS. Please excuse my mad Paint Skills, hehe

How Can I Earn on Instant Cash Sweepstakes?

Easy! Every 3 hours (I set my cell phone alarm to buzz when I can do mine again) you head on over to ICS and do some short surveys. These usually take me about 5 minutes or less. You win cash instantly this way. Also randomly you will be awarded “Business” surveys which will have a guaranteed cash prize attached to them, I’ve seen a range from a penny to 11 cents attached to these surveys. Your tickets will automatically be entered into the daily $50 drawing and whenever you feel like it you can enter your tokens to win the $2 every 4 hours prize.

image

When you answer your questions you automatically earn tickets and tokens, when you answer the same questions the same way you earn “Trust” points. These points add up to higher “Trust” Levels, these levels award you more tokens, tickets, and surveys per session. You can also Write Surveys for extra tickets, I have done this a time or two when I had nothing better to do, it’s actually kind of fun!

Now, once you’ve been playing awhile you will most likely be Invited by ICS to be a Pro User. Pro Users earn more cash by being awarded more market research surveys. To become a Pro User you have to tape a 2 minute long introduction via Webcam and you automatically will be awarded $2 and have these Research Surveys sent right to your email. I  have not yet taken advantage of the invitation because I am all about simplicity but I may some day when I have some extra time, if only to get the extra $2.

Sounds Great! Sign Me Up Scotty!

Signing up for Instant Cash Sweepstakes is incredibly easy. No need to complete a profile or anything. Love it! I do believe you have to email confirm but I’m not even 100% positive you have to do that.

WAHM Direct Sales Week presents Dove Chocolate Discoveries with Rebekah

image

Mmmm, Chocolate, do I have your attention? I remember roughly a year ago hearing about Dove Chocolate Discoveries and thinking, Wow, what a great idea. I love chocolate, who doesn’t love chocolate right? It’s like the perfect product to sell a women. I’m extremely jealous of Rebekah and I wonder how she doesn’t eat all the goodies before they go to their rightful homes. Learn more about becoming a Dove Chocolatier, read on.

Meet Rebekah
image
Hello! And thank you for joining us for One Little Indian's WAHM Direct Sales Week, Please introduce yourself to our readers:

Hi I am Rebekah. I am a stay at home mom of three little girls. I am an Independent Chocolatier with Dove Chocolate Discoveries, that's right I get paid to sell chocolate! I am the girls scout leader for my daughters troop.

How did you first hear about the company you now represent and what made you want to join?

I saw it on a direct sales directory site. I was looking for a company to join but didn't want to join one that already had several consultants in my area. The idea of being the only one in town  was very appealing.

That would be very appealing! How many Dove Consultants are in the United States? Are there any states that are really low on Consultants?

There are only about 6,000.

image
How easy was getting your "foot in the door" with your company, Were there any costs associated with joining and what did you get for these costs?

I had a choice of what kit to choose. I purchased the $159 kit and it included enough product to do 5 tasting parties.

We all know that having a Down Line is important in any Direct Sales Business, How did you go about getting your down line to join you? How many people do you currently sponsor for your company?

I have two people currently underneath me with one more joining this month.

Are those people friends/family or how did they find out about your business?

The two current ones are family and the one getting ready to join this month ran across my Facebook page.

Do you do home parties? If so tell me a little about how a typical party might run? How much work goes into a party? How many home parties do you do a month?

Yes I do Chocolate tasting parties! You invite the guests and I bring the chocolate! The menu usually includes: milk chocolate cinnamon dusted almonds, truffle fudge brownies, mint and peanut butter baking bit, chocolate martini, sugar free chocolates, raspberry and mango dessert sauces, spiced chai tea (served as a dip), milk chocolate mousse, dark chocolate fondue! I prepare the baked goods before hand and the other things are either ready to eat treats or prepared at the party. I would say from start to finish I put in about 4 hours total for a party. I try to do one to two parties a month. I have no doubt I could get more if I tried!

image
Yumm, that sounds great! Now do you carry products at the home party that those attending could chose right there or do you have to submit an order?

No, I don’t carry inventory they have to submit an order.

Do you have to do home parties to be a consultant? What other ways can I sell the product?

You do not have to but there are better sales that do come from them. People tend to be more willing to purchase it once they have tasted it. People can do online parties, catalog parties, or just place individual orders. Next month we will have online ordering for our customers.

How much in sales does a home party have to earn for the hostess to get discounts/free products? Tell us about the discounts for parties! I'm nosy, I'd love to hear what I could potentially earn from hosting a party with your company.

A qualifying party starts at $200, host earns 10% in free product, and you can purchase the new artisan butter almond toffee only available to hosts! $350 earn 10% free product and 2 half price items plus once you reach this mark you get Free shipping on your order and you can purchase host exclusive items,  $500 15% free product and 3 half price items, and the toffee for half price,  $750 15% free and 4 half price items, if you reach $800 in sales you get the 15% free, 4 half price items and the toffee for free,  $1,000 20% free and 4 half priced Plus receive milk chocolate covered cashews and dark chocolate covered almonds FREE when you host $350 and have 10 buying guests. Plus if you have 2 guests book a party from your show you can buy the mint filled dark chocolate baking bits for 67% off. You can also put your host $ towards the purchase of your kit!!

How much in sales does an average party generally do?

My smallest so far was $250 and my largest was about $950, they average around $350.

image
And the big question, If I were a Rep. for your company what can I expect to earn in commission? What is the "rate"?

25% commission of party total

Is it easy to advance in your company? How long have you been a consultant and how quickly did you advance?

Once you have two active Chocolatiers under you, you move up to Senior Chocolatier. I joined in April and moved up in July

Is there a minimum in sales that you have to make to remain “active” or to keep your status in your company? How do you attain that? Is it easy?

$400 in 3 months, it is very easy!! You can easily earn that in One party! My last party was over $900.

image
What support do you provide to those that sign up under you? If I signed up I’d be so lost, how would you help me to get started and to be successful if I’ve never had a Direct Sales Business before?

I would share my menu and ways to make the products stretch and share what I have learned. I would keep in contact with you either by phone or email on a monthly basis or more if you would like!

Does your company have any kind of training for new consultants? What about "Special Events"?

We have a fantastic information section on our website that tells you about products and all the new updates and flyers for you to print. They have conference calls recorded that have great information about products and recipes and how to make things work.

Are there any other special "Perks" that your company provides? Such as free products, extra cash, trips, etc. for anything?

We have a quick start program where you earn credit (cocoa cash) towards purchase of product. in your fist 30 days - sell $1,000 and get $100 cocoa cash, same for you 31-60 days and 61-90 days and for each new recruit you get in your first 90 days you get $100 cocoa cash and if your recruit sells $1,000 in their first 30 days you get $50 cocoa cash! Plus they offer incentive trips everyone in awhile. Right now it is a trip to Dominican Republic, Punta Cana!

Wow, that sounds amazing! I’d love a free trip. What are the requirements to earning the trip?

Trip for one you must have 19,000 points, trip for two you need 38,000 points. You earn points $1 in personal sales gets you 1 point, each qualified recruit gets you 1,000 points and each personal promotion you get 5,000 points. It is an all-inclusive resort 5 days 4 nights.
 image
What is one product that seems to be a big seller?

Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Dusted Almonds.

What is your favorite product from your company?

Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Dusted Almonds

Have you ever been a consultant with any other company prior to joining your company?

No, this was my first direct sales company.

WAHM Direct Sales Week presents Barefoot Books with Marcy

image

Woohoo! We are now coming upon Day 3 of our WAHM Direct Sales Week. I really hope that you have enjoyed reading about the different work at home opportunities that we have featured, stay tuned for more! I love learning about new to me companies and this event has been such a blessing for that. I had heard of Barefoot Books in the past but I guess I never realized that it was a Direct Sales company, I thought it was just one company you bought books from, boy was I wrong. What a great company! Read on.

Meet Marcy
image
Hello! And thank you for joining us for One Little Indian's WAHM Direct Sales Week, Please introduce yourself to our readers:

Hi! My name is Marcy Turner. I am from Highland Park, Illinois (a Northern Chicago Suburb on Lake Michigan). I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Spanish Concentration, in 1995. Although I loved teaching, I felt that my education was not complete and therefore decided to attend law school. I attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law where I focused on child law, including serving as the Managing Editor of the Children's Legal Rights Journal, where I had an article published regarding children and Internet safety. I graduated in 1999 with a Juris Doctor and fortunately passed the bar on the first attempt. I practiced law from 1999-2010 but never enjoyed it and hated being away from my family so much. I therefore decided to try to find something I could do from home that would better reflect my interests and values, while allowing me the precious time home with my family. I was fortunate enough to discover Barefoot Books and became an Ambassador in early 2011. I love these products, the company, and most of all, the ability to earn money while setting my own schedule.

I have been married 14.5 years to my husband Jason, and have two children Sam (just turned 10) and Alexa (will turn 7 next month). I love to play tennis and softball, do various crafts, and, of course, read!

How did you first hear about the company you now represent and what made you want to join?

I discovered Barefoot Books when searching for new resources for my blog/website, Fabulous Classroom. One of my new followers on Twitter is an Ambassador and sent me some information on the company, products, and being an Ambassador. As soon as I started looking at the products, I knew Barefoot Books was an excellent match for me, as their focus on multiculturalism, green living, and promoting good values are issues that are extremely important to me.

image
How easy was getting your "foot in the door" with your company, Were there any costs associated with joining and what did you get for these costs?

It was SO easy! All I had to do was fill out a few simple forms online and that was it! When I joined there were no costs other than the products I chose to purchase (to use for display purposes at events). The company recently changed the program and now require new ambassadors to purchase a Starter Kit for $139.99. This kit has a retail price of over $300 and ships for free! It actually SAVES you money because it comes with everything you need to get started (which you would have likely purchased anyway for a lot more). Plus if you sign up in November you get a free Barefoot Books Atlas which is worth $19.99

We all know that having a Down line is important in any Direct Sales Business, How did you go about getting your down line to join you? How many people do you currently sponsor for your company?

I currently do not have a down line and am seeking people to join me in this awesome business. I wanted to become absolutely comfortable with the company and its products before seeking ambassadors to join my team; I am now definitely at that point and excited to share my knowledge with other people looking to make money from home! I am part of a team that has 3 team leaders above me.

Do you do home parties? If so tell me a little about how a typical party might run? How much work goes into a party? How many home parties do you do a month?

Yes! I typically like to send an Evite and/or Facebook event invitation several weeks before the party to invite people and give them more information about the products. A typical party will run a few hours (although sometimes I will do parties that run a few hours during the day and then a few more at night so people who work can attend). I like to set out a nice display of products (when I first started I even took out a bunch of Barefoot Books from our local library to display) that people can easily see and look through. I also keep my laptop on hand to show people some of our fabulous videos and other products I don’t have on hand. There is no formal presentation, just mingling and perusing the products! I like to entice people by stating on the invite that snacks will be provided as well.  I typically do 1 party a month (as well as online parties – see below) but hope to do more during the holiday season.

image
Do you "Have" to do home parties to be a consultant? What other ways can I sell the product?

No! Ambassadors can do at home parties OR online parties:

· Promote Barefoot products via e-mail or online through websites, e-shops, blogs, social networking profiles and more.

· Drive people to your website by adding Barefoot banners and buttons to your blog, to websites you establish relationships with, and to your e-mail.

· Place text and graphic links that carry your information through to us, so you can get credit for sales.

· Receive detailed reporting on customer sales and have access to your own personal Barefoot Books web office.

These resources (buttons, links, etc.) are all available FREE for you to download! It is really easy!

How much in sales does a home party have to earn for the hostess to get discounts/free products? Tell us about the discounts for parties! I'm nosy, I'd love to hear what I could potentially earn from hosting a party with your company.

Ambassadors have the flexibility to create any hostess plan they would like. I use the plan my leader uses, as I believe it be fair for both the hostess and the ambassador, and good enough to draw people in to host!

Here it is:

As a hostess you will receive a hostess gift and FREE books based upon your party’s sales.

· $300 – $399                       $25 in FREE Books
· $400 – $499                       $50 in FREE Books
· $500 – $599                       $75 in FREE Books
$600+ = 25% of your Party total in FREE Books

For orders under $300, you will receive 15% off your order.

Booking Bonus – When a guest books a party, you will receive a 15% discount on your order at their party or after their party is held.

image
And the big question, If I were a Rep. for your company what can I expect to earn in commission? What is the "rate"?

Ambassadors earn money in “steps” based on annual sales. You start off earning 20% back in commission on every sale PLUS loyalty points which you can use for FREE products. For the first $500 in sales you get 20% back; after $500 you get 30% back; and after $5000, 40% (more info can be found HERE). PERSONAL PURCHASES COUNT! So all of the items you purchase for yourself or to sell/display at parties are really 20-40% off!

Here is the blurb from our company:

No matter how you choose to work with us, you’ll receive competitive compensation and rewards based on your sales history.

· Bring in commissions with your very first order.
· Earn 20-40% of the retail value of  your sales
· Collect loyalty points in addition to your commission.
· Win rewards and prizes, including original art, great gifts and even Barefoot journeys to far-away places.
· Take advantage of seasonal sales and monthly special offers with attractive discounts.
· Obtain exclusive access to Ambassador areas of our community forums.
· Get sneak peeks of manuscripts and artwork for new Barefoot Books titles and the chance to offer your feedback and ideas in our product development process.
· Earn bonuses for spreading the word about Barefoot Books and the Ambassador opportunity.

Is it easy to advance in your company? How long have you been a consultant and how quickly did you advance?

It is very easy to advance – I got to the second step in less than 2 months! It really depends how much time you are willing to put into it and how many parties you book. The more you sell, the faster you will get to the 3rd step (40% commission).

Is there a minimum is sales that you have to make to remain "active" or to keep your status in your company? How do you attain that? Is it easy?

No!

image
What support do you provide to those that sign up under you? If I signed up I'd be so lost! Tell me how you would help me to get started and to be successful if I've never been in the Direct Sales Business before?

I would provide you with everything you need to get started, from details on how to host parties, links to everything you need to get started, etc. I would also be available via email at all times for any questions or concerns.

Does your company have any kind of training for new consultants? What about "Special Events"?

There are TONS of training materials available for ambassadors online, from videos to chat forums and more!

Are there any other special "Perks" that your company provides? Such as free products, extra cash, trips, etc. for anything?

The company always has contests for awesome prizes like trips, books, and more. WAHM Direct Sales Week presents Scentsy with Chrisann

Day 2 of our WAHM Direct Sales Week, yippee! Today is dedicated to a company I am quite familiar with (to say the least). I am a HUGE fan of Scentsy and their products. I’ve been using Scentsy for years which goes along with my personal obsession with tarts. You will not find a better warmer then what Scentsy has to offer. I am pleased to introduce you to my personal consultant, friend, and amazing Scentsy Consultant!

Meet Chrisann

Hello! And thank you for joining us for One Little Indian's WAHM Direct Sales Week, Please introduce yourself to our readers:

My name is ChrisAnn Simek, and I'm a Scentsy Star Consultant and Scentsy addict! I'm a stay-at-home-mom to a wonderful 3 year old boy, and a military wife.

How did you first hear about the company you now represent and what made you want to join?

A family member gave a warmer and some scent bars for my birthday. The first time I warmed my Scentsy wax, I was hooked! I couldn't believe how much fragrance was packed into the small bits of wax. And I'd been really torn about getting rid of my candles, because my son was just crawling around. I did not want there to ever be an issue where he got hurt because of one of my candles. Scentsy's SAFE! No wick means no flame, which means no putting my love of scented wax aside for my child's safety. Then I found out that I could save lots of money by joining the company, which worked well for me because of the military life. I'm able to use Scentsy as a doorway to meeting all sorts of new people.

image
How easy was getting your "foot in the door" with your company, Were there any costs associated with joining and what did you get for these costs?

It does cost $99* U.S. to join Scentsy (*before tax and shipping). However, that's for the kit that helps you sell your Scentsy. It includes a Full Size Warmer ($30), a Scentsy Buddy w/scent pak ($25), a Room Spray ($8), a Scentsy bar ($5), Fragrance Foam ($6), Scent Circle ($3), a full party tester kit ($75), and tons of startup business supplies (catalogs, order forms, etc.). That alone is much more than you're actually paying for. Scentsy also can be sold in Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, and Ireland. However, price of the kit may vary slightly per country.

We all know that having a Down line is important in any Direct Sales Business, How did you go about getting your down line to join you? How many people do you currently sponsor for your company?

Currently, I have a team of 11 and one recruit joining at the end of the month. One is a family member that saw my success and decided she wanted a piece too. One is a fellow military wife that came to one of my parties and fell in love with the product. One is a complete stranger that I have never met before; she found me on my Facebook group and was on board after finding out all Scentsy has to offer. One was my best customer! I asked her one day if she'd ever given it any thought. Less than 24 hours later, she signed up without even telling me. Each and every member of my down line were different stories, but they all are important members of my team.

image
Do you do home parties? If so tell me a little about how a typical party might run? How much work goes into a party? How many home parties do you do a month?

Sure, I do parties. It's one of my favorite parts of the job! Scentsy is all about Simplicity. That's why you don't get all the bells and whistles with your Startup kit: It's really honestly not necessary to do a party. I show up 15-20 minutes before party time to set up. I warm a few cubes of wax in my display warmer, set out my party testers, and put out all the products I was given in my kit to show them off. My parties tend to last 2-3 hours. I'm usually done with my presentation in 20 minutes, but the guests are having so much fun that they don't leave! I always try to play a game or two, and always have something small to giveaway to the winners. And I always give a great host gift, because I appreciate the host inviting me into her home and bringing all these new customers to my business. On average, I do about 2 parties in a month. I love that I can make my own schedule! You can be picky about when you want to work, and be your own boss!

Do you "Have" to do home parties to be a consultant? What other ways can I sell the product?

There are also smaller testers called "mini testers", which can be used for a basket party! A basket party is just like a Scentsy catalog party, except I also provide my host with a full set of mini testers so that their customers can still smell each and every scent we have to offer. I tend to do more basket parties than anything else! People love that they don't have to have people in their home to still get the Scentsy experience, as well as the exact same host rewards. Scentsy also offers fundraisers, and I also do vendor and craft fairs sometimes.

image
How much in sales does a home party have to earn for the hostess to get discounts/free products? Tell us about the discounts for parties! I'm nosy, I'd love to hear what I could potentially earn from hosting a party with your company.

To earn host rewards for ANY type of Scentsy party, the party has to be a minimum of $150 USD before tax and shipping. Once reached, the host earns 10% of total sales in free product and 1 half priced item. Once sales reach $250 USD the host earns an extra half priced item. Once sales reach $400 USD, the host will earn 15% of total sales in free product and 3 half priced items! And if the sales reach $1,000 USD or more, there is an extra half priced item added (making the total you can earn 4).  And for every guest at your Scentsy party who chooses to book their own Scentsy party, you receive an additional half priced item for attending their party! I also give a host gift on top of all that, which I give at the close of the party.

And the big question, If I were a Rep. for your company what can I expect to earn in commission? What is the "rate"?

When you first join Scentsy, the starting commission is 20%. As soon as you sell your first $1,000 USD in Scentsy products lifetime, your commission goes up to 25% and remains there. There are ways to earn more, though. If you sell $2,000 USD in one month, you will receive a bonus 5% (making your total commission 30% that month only). You can also receive bonuses from your down line, but in order to receive those you must make a monthly goal of $500 in sales per month. I didn't like that at first, however I quickly changed my opinion once I realized how unfair it is to others that you don't have to work and can still make lots of money off their hard work. I like that I still have to do my share of work in order to reap any benefits from my down line.

Is it easy to advance in your company? How long have you been a consultant and how quickly did you advance?

I am a Star Consultant, which is level #4 of 8 on the Scentsy totem pole. I started out as a Essential Consultant, at the very bottom, when I joined in September of 2010. I promoted to Certified Consultant in October 2010, Lead Consultant in November 2010, and Star Consultant in February 2011. The next 4 steps are a little more difficult, but not impossible at all. It requires a bit of work on my part to recruit and train down line consultants to be great Scentsy consultants. And while I could have already achieved the new status of Superstar Consultant by now, I felt it more important to train and guide my new recruits than to push them to do things they weren't ready to do. However, I do believe in them. They are a wonderful group of people, and they know their stuff. I will be advancing within the next month or two, I have no doubt about that.

image
Is there a minimum is sales that you have to make to remain "active" or to keep your status in your company? How do you attain that? Is it easy?

Scentsy just lowered their minimum sales! As of September 1st, you only have to place one order within 6 months to remain active. So literally placing one order of no minimum value, so it could even be as small as a $1.00 USD light bulb. It doesn't get easier than that!

What support do you provide to those that sign up under you? If I signed up I'd be so lost! Tell me how you would help me to get started and to be successful if I've never been in the Direct Sales Business before?

Before any of my recruits sign up, I promise them that I will be available to help and guide them 24/7. I mean each and every word of that. I have had recruits call me at 2am, because of a time difference, because they cannot figure out something with an order that has to be placed right then. I may be groggy, but I don't ever turn down a call unless it's a serious situation on my side. I've sat on the phone with a recruit for 3-4 hours, going over basics and walking them through a process step by step. They have my Facebook, emails, home phone, cell phone, address, every single possible way of contacting me. I give them a plethora of information before and after signing up, and make sure they have access to their workstations where they can take training courses. I've sent downline product when they needed it. I send out weekly emails, making sure all my girls are up to date on everything going on in the Scentsy world. I even had my own Summer Incentive Promotion this past summer, where they earned points towards a brand new $500 Coach purse!

Does your company have any kind of training for new consultants? What about "Special Events"?

Scentsy has two special events every year for training. Scentsy's annual convention, which next year's will be in Las Vegas, is the fall reveal and training sessions. I had the immense pleasure of attending this year's convention in Ft Worth, TX. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny and more. Not only do we receive tons of useful and fun training, we get to see the new products first and we get lots of free products. At convention, we got two boxes full of products that totaled more than the price of the convention ticket! There's also a Spring reveal and training, which is called Spring Sprint. This is a period of a few weeks, where a few Scentsy tour buses full of crew and product travel from place to place bringing training to YOU! The traning is always great and, once again, the free product given at this event is more than the cost of the registration. As far as new consultants go, there is an entire section of the Scentsy workstation dedicated to training new consultants. There are documents and videos that take you through every single thing, step by step. There are also DVD's that a sponsor can give to a new recruit, giving them a little insight to what we do and how we do it.

Are there any other special "Perks" that your company provides? Such as free products, extra cash, trips, etc. for anything?

You don't know the half of it! In addition to all the free product you can get at the events, there is always some sort of an incentive program going on at Scentsy! Currently, consultants are earning points towards an all-expense paid trip (you can even earn a second trip for a spouse or friend!) to the Hard Rock Resort at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! Since the qualification period began in July for this trip, any new consultants that sign up now will receive a catch-up bonus of 5,000 points. How awesome is that? There is also a new consultant challenge. If a consultant sells a certain amount of Scentsy within their first 70 days of becoming a consultant, they can earn product credit of up to $200! Also as I mentioned before, if a consultant sells $2,000 USD or more in a month, they will get a 5% bonus of their own commission.

image
What is one product that seems to be a big seller?

The Scentsy wax, whether in bar or brick form, is our best seller. Customers love that we have 80+ different scents. There's something for every nose! We also introduce a new warmer and scent each month called the Warmer and Scent of the month, respectively. Those are offered at a 10% discount during their debut month, which customers always love.

image
What is your favorite product from your company?

Personally, I absolutely love my Cupcake Premium Mid-Size Warmer! It's our only 3pc warmer, and it's incredibly cute. Perfectly paired with our scent "Happy Birthday", it makes for a wonderful birthday gift.

Have you ever been a consultant for any other company prior to joining your company?

No! I almost joined a few, but chickened out right before signing up because I just didn't think I could do it. With Scentsy, I signed up within a month of being introduced to the product. I didn't have to be recruited, I wanted to sign up! I had no doubt in my mind that this product basically sold itself, which it definitely does.

Thank you Chrisann for sharing with our readers all that Scentsy has to offer!

Want to Win? Chrisann has kindly offered one of our lucky readers the cute Gingerbread Plug-In Warmer and a Scent Bar from her stock. Giveaway will end on Oct. 29th at 12:01am. To enter fill out the Rafflecopter Form below.

WAHM Direct Sales Week presents Tomboy Tools with Laura

image

Welcome to our very first day of WAHM Direct Sales Week! I am excited to share many different companies with you this week that focus on helping moms work from home and own their own business with many different wonderful companies. I hope you enjoy learning about each company as much as I have and if you have been on the fence about starting your own business with a direct sales company that these Q&A Sessions help to inform you about the options out there for you!

Meet Laura

Hello! And thank you for joining us for One Little Indian's WAHM Direct Sales Week, Please introduce yourself to our readers:

Hi!  Thank you for having me.  My name is Laura McVay.  I wear a whole lot of hats: military spouse, mother of two, homeschooling mom, Key Spouse, and a very happy consultant for Tomboy Tools!

How did you first hear about the company you now represent and what made you want to join?

First off, you need to know what sent me on more search.  I have been a Key Spouse for the USAF for 4 years now.  That is the bridge between the families and the command.  I have always been a "handy" girl.  The first year as a Key Spouse, I quickly discovered that while our families were barely hanging on during deployments, small things breaking around the house had a way of being the proverbial "straw that breaks the camels back."  I quickly found myself going to the houses and helping the spouses' fix whatever went wrong.  It was during my second year that I decided that it would be better to just teach them how to do it themselves.  All of a sudden they were walking taller.  When we moved to our next assignment, I started looking for tools for ME.  My husband's tools are good, but I have small hands.  And while my hands may be small, my jobs are big...and I quickly became both disgusted and disheartened by the "pink tools" that were on the market.  That is, until I discovered Tomboy Tools.  Their mission is to Inspire and Empower women to get the job done...which fit perfect with my own.  Their tools were just as good as my husbands, but made to fit my hands...I was hooked.

image
How easy was getting your "foot in the door" with your company, Were there any costs associated with joining and what did you get for these costs?
Tomboy Tools is a very affordable company to start up with.  We have 4 different Business Start Up Kits ranging from $139 to $289.  These kits both include our Pink Diamond kit and all the business essentials that you need for your first 3 parties (or more).  The Premium Kit includes the addition of the suede tool belt, our Impact Drill, paint brushes, and more, putting it over the top.  Our Diamond Kit really sells herself.

We all know that having a Down line is important in any Direct Sales Business, How did you go about getting your down line to join you? How many people do you currently sponsor for your company?

My down line joined my team after hearing about our product online.  The head office does a wonderful job of pairing like-background people to work together.  I have also had people join my team after following my Facebook Page and just liking what they see.  I have 3 under me....with 4 leaning heavily toward joining.  I am not a high pressure person and prefer for people to join in their own timing.  However, I am a very, very supportive and active up line.  My down line is scattered around the US.

image
Do you do home parties? If so tell me a little about how a typical party might run? How much work goes into a party? How many home parties do you do a month?

Yes, I do home parties!  It depends on what the Hostess wants.  She can choose our Tools School 101.  This is our Intro to tools...normally an hour.  Lots of hands on and fun!  We also have our Social Party.  This is where I have a table set up and am there to answer question.  This is geared toward the "Non-party" crowd...but just as successful...especially since shipping is so much cheaper through a party.  Thirdly, we have our Catalog Party.  For this I provide my Hostess with our Pink Tool Box, some tools, order forms, catalogs....and she collects orders from people she knows.  Our company recently had a consultant who did this and closed out a $5000+ party.  Fourth - Virtual Parties.  This is where the Hostess uses her Online Party Profile to gather orders.  Fifth - Exposure events...these are tables at vendor events.  I use them for booking parties.  However, I have know several consultants actually sell straight from their booths.

What is the discount on shipping if you have a party?

When a party order hits $500, there is free shipping on the party order!

Do you "Have" to do home parties to be a consultant? What other ways can I sell the product?

No, you do not have to have parties.  That is the joy of Tomboy Tools.  You can run it as it feels best for you.  Some consultants carry inventory and sell from their tables at vendor events.  Some consultants do orders from their tables at vendor events.  Others do an almost completely virtual format.  I do a mix of parties, virtual, and booking from vender events.

How much in sales does a home party have to earn for the hostess to get discounts/free products? Tell us about the discounts for parties! I'm nosy, I'd love to hear what I could potentially earn from hosting a party with your company.

Hostesses start earning benefits at the $200 party level.  This includes 1/2 price items and the ability to buy our Pink Metal Tool Box.  the benefits go up from there.  However, the real perks come in at the $500 level with 5 1/2 priced items, the toolbox for free,  1/2 price on a kit, free shipping, the monthly hostess special, and 10% off all future order for 1 calendar year.  The perks go through the roof from there.

image

And the big question, If I were a Rep. for your company what can I expect to earn in commission? What is the "rate"?

30% commission, with 25% commission on power tools

Is it easy to advance in your company? How long have you been a consultant and how quickly did you advance?

Yes it is.  Your advancement is all hinged on your sales and down line.  But the company understands that there are different types of Tomboys....and we support them all.  I have been a consultant for 7 months and I am meeting my personally set goals.

Is there a minimum is sales that you have to make to remain "active" or to keep your status in your company? How do you attain that? Is it easy?

Our minimum sales goal to stay active is only $100.  Each level has its own minimum requirement.  I have always been able to hit my requirements by pushing a little harder.  Most of the time, the minute people see our product, they buy it.  During "slow" times, I have purchased something that would hit the mark to make my minimum and donated it to a charity event.  That gets my name out in the community and acts as a Tax write off.

image
What support do you provide to those that sign up under you? If I signed up I'd be so lost! Tell me how you would help me to get started and to be successful if I've never been in the Direct Sales Business before?

Number one....I am always here for you!  Any questions you have or encouragement you need, that is what I am here for!  I am a creative person who enjoys thinking outside the box, and sometimes, that is just what you need to get your business going.  The one thing I LOVE about Tomboy Tools is their training!  They are so thorough in making sure we have all the tools and support we need.  I help you through your training...and then I am that partner by your side to help you get & keep going.  You are never alone.  I am just a phone call away!

Does your company have any kind of training for new consultants? What about "Special Events"?

We have phenomenal training for new consultants and continuing training for old consultants!  Our corporate staff has webinars, consultant chats, new consultant chats, National Calls scheduled throughout the month.  Honestly, even if I can't be on the phone right when it is scheduled, it is nice to know that I can go into the backoffice and here any past call.  Some I have listened to twice to make sure I got everything.  Our new consultants have what is call the "Fast Start" program.  This gets them to jusp start their business out the gates.  We have two levels:  $450 in 45 days and $900 in 90 days.  This is a great way to add wonderful free tools to your collection without buying them.  Plus (and this is only with me), if you complete the $900 in 90 goal, I give you an additional $25, which reduces your start up costs by $25.

Are there any other special "Perks" that your company provides? Such as free products, extra cash, trips, etc. for anything?

We have "perks" all year around.  Our next consultant incentive trip to Vegas.  We are currently doing a $1000 bonus incentive from Sept - Dec.  We receive both free tools and year around 30% off of everything.  There are contests year around.

Wow! $1,000, How would a consultant earn the $1,000 Bonus Incentive?

The contest started in Sept.  It is a stair step contest.  Sept required 2 qualifying parties plus one new recruit = $200.  Oct:  Sept's fulfillment plus 2 qualifying parties & 1 new recruit = $300.  Nov: Sept + Oct fulfillment plus 2 qualifying parties and 1 new recruit = $300.  Finally, Dec: Sept, Oct., Nov fulfillment plus 2 qualifying parties & 1 new recruit = $1000 total for the 4 months.  If you miss one month, you start back at month 1.  However, a qualifying party is only $500.

image
What is one product that seems to be a big seller?

Oh my!  Which one isn't??  Our Traveler full of tools and our Impact Drill are two of our top sellers.  However, we have a special price during Nov. on our Pink Diamond Kit that is likely to propel it into 1st.  It is really an amazing deal.  My personal top seller is the Picture Perfect Level.

Can you tell us what the Special Price will be? Or is that Top Secret?

Our Pink Diamond Kit, during the month of Nov., without the suede belt is only $99.  With the tool belt, it is only $109...that is a $20 to $30 reduction.

What is your favorite product from your company?

It has to be our Ratcheting Screw Driver.  I use that baby all the time.  I also find myself reaching for our 13oz. Pink for a Purpose Magnetic Head Hammer all the time.  I guess you can say it all depends on whatever needs to be done!

Have you ever been a consultant for any other company prior to joining your company?

Yes.  I could never really get the enthusiasm for selling it because I didn't feel that it helped make women's lives better.  In the scope of everything that is "needed,"  that company definitely fell in the "want" not "need" category.  I would see women spend insane amounts of money on something that didn't have a lasting benefit.  However, helping women become self sufficient and confident in the care and keeping of the roof over their heads is definitely something that I can proudly share because I believe in it. They don't need to wait for someone else to do it.  They can learn how to do it themselves...which brings an amazing amount of confidence to their lives.  It also helps them to pass it on, which is my wish.

Thank you Laura for sharing with our readers the awesome opportunity that is Tomboy Tools!

Want to win? Laura has generously offered one of our lucky readers their very own Pink 13oz Magnetic Hammer ($15 ARV). Giveaway will end on Oct. 28th at 12:01am. To enter fill out the Rafflecopter Form below.

Mommy Makes Money Monday

Who couldn’t use a little bit of extra money? I have decided that from now on every Monday I will share with my wonderful readers easy ways I have found to earn a little bit of extra cash online. Will you get rich doing these things? Of course not, but every little bit helps right? That is my motto and that is why I commit just a little bit of my time each day doing these things and they do add up! So join me, every Monday when I share one of my little money making gems with you.

SuperPoints

image

I have tried A LOT of different money making ventures online. Even when I worked full time I still did things in my spare time to earn a bit of extra cash. Superpoints is by far the most profitable of ways to earn money online I’ve found so it’s natural this is the first site I want to share with you.

What is Superpoints?

Superpoints is a quick and easy site online to make a bit of extra cash. I generally can’t be bothered to do survey sites and I flat out will not do “special offer” sites. Superpoints is different, you earn points randomly each day from clicking a button, so if you can click a button you can earn points too! Superpoints has other ways of earning cash too, they do have surveys and special offers BUT you don’t have to do these to be successful at Superpoints, I sure don’t.

What Can I Expect To Earn From Superpoints?

I will come right out and say it really depends on how dedicated you are to making sure that you do your daily spins. It is also key to have a downline (referrals under you). But the great thing about Superpoints is that you earn 100% (yep exact matching) of any points your friends earn. The number of daily “clicks” you get of the Superlucky Button daily depend on how many friends you’ve invited (we’ll go more into this later). You don’t have to have friends under you to earn points but it certaintly gets you points faster and more spins too! I have 6-8 active friends (meaning they do their spins almost daily) and I earn enough points to cash out for $5 in my Paypal account every 3-4 days (sometimes quicker). In the 3 months I’ve been doing Superpoints I’ve made $80 in PayPal cash and a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card. Not bad for clicking a button daily and telling my friends how awesome a site is.

What Can I Earn from Superpoints?

I’ve noticed sometimes a site online will make it incredibly difficult for you to actually redeem the points that you’ve won, this is frustrating and it makes me a sad panda. Superpoints is super duper easy to cash out your points and they are prompt on payment too (generally within a week). You can earn cold hard Paypal Cash, Amazon.com Gift Cards, Wal-Mart Gift Cards, Electronics, and tons of other gift cards too! I really love the selection of gift cards Superpoints has to offer and at reasonable point levels too! Each point on Superpoints is equal to a penny. This means that 500 points is equal to $5 and you can cash out for a $5 Gift Card thus making it really easy to spend your points as you earn them.

image

How Can I Earn on Superpoints?

As I mentioned above all you have to do is click a button to earn points daily. Each click of the “Superlucky Button” may award you a random amount of points (anywhere from 1 to 300). Superpoints also sends out nifty SuperLucky Mail to your email which contains points (I’ve personally gotten anywhere from 1 to 25 points in an email). With the SuperLucky Mail all you have to do is open the email and there will be a button that days Claim My Points (or something to that effect) and BAM free points. Superpoints has all the random other stuff such as Surveys, Special Offers, and even paid videos too (which are easy to watch while you’re doing something else if you wanted to). And probably the best way to really amp up your winnings is to invite your friends! Since Superpoints is so easy to sign up and easy to earn it’s appealing to everyone! I just post a few times a week on my Facebook about Superpoints and I find that I usually get a few responses with questions (which I love to answer) and perhaps then have a friend (or two) sign up!

Sounds Great! Sign Me Up Scotty!

Signing up for Superpoints is incredibly fast and easy. To keep Superpoints legit it is Invite only, the developers hope that this method will avoid bots and thus result in actual members earning more! Each member of Superpoints has a set number of invites they can hand out at a time. I usually have extras I can share and if I don’t I can always find you an invite. Email me at: onelittleindianblog (at) yahoo (dot) com and put Superpoints in the Subject and I will send you an “Invite Token” as soon as possible. An Invite token is just a fancy name for a link that will take you to Superpoints and allow you to sign up. Keep in mind that when signing up you will want to use the same email you use for Paypal if you are planning on using your winnings to cash out for Paypal cash because they will send the money to the email you sign up with. If you are cashing out by any other method don’t worry! Once you sign up you will want to complete your basic profile (it’s just a few basic questions, Email Confirm, and Upload a Picture **Doesn’t have to be you, just use a stock photo if you wish**) by doing these easy tasks you will automatically be bumped up to the next level on Superpoints and earn more daily spins (this will take you up to 30 daily spins).

Check Back Next Monday for another great way to earn cash online in One Little Indian’s new Mommy Makes Money Monday’s!

Clothing as a Gift: He Said, She Said…

The Chief and I are usually pretty in sync with our views on things.  I’m not really sure how we got on the discussion but it went something like this.

Me: “I don’t think it’s fair to give kids clothing as a Christmas Present?”

Him: “Why, I got clothing as presents?”

Me: “So did I, but the way I see it a Christmas Gift should be something that the receiver enjoys and a small child isn’t going to enjoy clothing, besides clothing is a necessity not a gift unless the child is old enough to appreciate and want new clothing as a gift.”

Him: “Well the child should learn to appreciate anything you give them.”

Me: “True, but I still think clothing is something parents should provide as needed not something they should be passing off as a gift.”

So Readers…We are in limbo…

What Say You?
